Maria. Available in groceries and wet markets are homegrown delicacies like Mr. Sausage; Southland pomelos; Sungee fruits; Flavorite chorizos; and Joel Gulucina's home-made coconut candies and tarts.
For dinner and drinks amidst a young crowd, try Cafe Sacco at Pasonanca, Latitude Disco Bar and Restaurant on Campaner Street, Grand Alejandra's Complex on Nunez Extension, and Harry's Grill. Others troop to Popoy's on Tetuan Highway, Zalo's Point on Governor Camins Avenue, and Lobby Bar at Garden Orchid Hotel. There are also the trusty watering holes such as Talisay Bar at Lantaka Hotel by the Sea, La Vista del Mar, and BPM Farm Resort.
 
                           
Don't miss out on trying a glass of Zamboanga White, a local concoction of lychee juice and vanilla ice cream named after a breed of cockfighting rooster native to Zamboanga. Or the city's callos and paellas served all over, a testament to its Spanish heritage. Other delicacies are kubal-kubal (a kind of fish best for grilling), Bata de chupa ku/u (shell), talaba (oyster), and bongga salad (main ingredient is the young flower of palm).
